If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway that is more focused on downtime than on playtime, the beach could be what you need. You can book a cabin that is right on the beach, so you won’t have to fight other people for chair space like you would if you stayed in a hotel. 

Another fun part about staying at the beach is setting out crab traps or digging for oysters. Then, you can cook up your catch for dinner over a fire pit you dug outside in the sand. 

2. Winery Tour

Visiting a winery for your next vacation could be ideal if you’re always searching for your next favorite wine. If you stay in a wine region, you could even visit multiple wineries near where you are staying. However, whether you are visiting vineyards near Charlottesville or going farther away, you want to make sure you choose a designated driver or rely on a drive share to get around. Even small tastes of multiple types of wine can quickly make you too impaired to drive. 

3. River Tubing

Is being active on vacation more your style? Then perhaps going tubing would be good for you. Before setting out for tubing, find a map of the area. That way, you know where to drop off a car, so you have a way to get back to the hotel at the end of the day. 

You can tie a waterproof cooler to your tube and bring lunch and drinks with you when tubing, which allows you to stay on the water for longer. Just be mindful that everything you bring in with you, you take out with you.
